Two members of the Pershore High School Sixth Form Centre enjoyed great success at the British Junior Canoe Sprint Regatta at the National Watersports Centre in Nottingham on 2nd and 3rd July. They are Ruth Bennett (17) of Wyre Piddle, and Megan Bradley (16) of Fladbury. Ruth is now the C1 Junior National Champion at 200m sprint, winning the gold medal and Meg won a bronze medal over the same distance. They are also Junior National C2 Champions for 200m and 500m, both winning gold medals, and Ruth was awarded a silver medal for C1 500m. Their coach, Andy Train, informs us that he has received a call from British Canoeing to say that Ruth has been selected to represent Great Britain at the International Regatta in Hungary at the end of September.
