Pershore High School student, James Ide (15) from Bromsgrove recently attended a joint ski trip with eight Explorer Scouts from the Gloucestershire District and students from Star College in Cheltenham.
The students stayed at ‘Lycée H.B. de Saussure’ in Combloux, France. This was the first time James had tried skiing and he enjoyed the experience. During the day the group went skiing on the slopes and in the evening all the students took part in joint activities. James got to try out the tandem skis used by the students from Star College and got an appreciation of how they could enjoy the fun of skiing.
The group also all went ice skating together and visited the local town for some sight seeing and shopping. A number of the Explorers and one of the students from Star College took part in the trip as part of their Gold Duke of Edinburgh award. There was plenty of snow, the weather was perfect and everyone had a great time.
