Year 8 speed skater, Adam Hill became British champion in the Junior D (12/13 year olds) category over the Easter weekend as he triumphed at the 2018 British Short Track Speed Skating Championships. In the event held at the National Ice Centre, Nottingham, Adam, dominated the boys’ competition, comprehensively winning all three distance finals. This is his fifth podium finish in a row at the annual championships and tops off his most successful season ever. 13 year old Adam has won every event he has entered on British ice this season and this follows a successful “Star Class” competition in Germany in January in which he raced the best skaters in Europe, finishing in the top ten in 500m, 777m and 1000m distances, setting personal best times in each.
Adam is planning to compete again in the elite European Star Class circuit next season and in the meantime will be training both here in the UK and the Netherlands over the summer prior to the start of next season’s racing.
