Pershore High School’s stunning new art building in Pershore, Worcestershire, has been highly commended in the Community Architecture category of the 2016 Wychavon District Council Building Design Awards.
The smart new £3 million art complex, designed and built by regional construction company Stepnell, was praised by judges for its flexible, multi-purpose design and its harmonious fit with the school’s existing buildings. Stepnell completed the 10-classroom art facility in February this year.
Wychavon District Council runs the Building Design Awards biannually to recognise building projects that show real design quality, craftsmanship and sustainable building practices.
“Good building design plays such an important role in creating effective learning environments for young people,” says John Shuttleworth, contracts manager for Stepnell. “We are delighted that our design for this terrific new art building at Pershore High School has been recognised in these prestigious Council awards.”
