Scuba-diving Students gain Ocean diver certification.
Four Year 11 students from Pershore High School have qualified as Ocean divers the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC) after completing their course with Evesham Sub-Aqua Club. Jordon Davis, Ethan Harris, Harry Metcalfe and Alison Sprague started the course in October 2015, learning snorkelling skills in Pershore pool. They progressed to using scuba equipment and had to study for an exam, related to diving safety and technical questions relating to diving depths and pressures. Passing this exam enabled the divers to progress to open water dives in quarries in Cromwell and Chepstow.
This photo shows a recent sea-diving trip to Little Haven, Pembrokeshire, where the students dived off the club's RIB, at Stack Rocks, under challenging, low visibility conditions.
Big thanks to Evesham Sub-Aqua Club for their great support and training. Anyone else wishing to have a go is welcome to arrange a 'try-dive'. The club meets each Wednesday evening at Pershore pool.
